2nd Space Development Nexus Conference
2nd Space Development Nexus Conference will be held in Delhi in Feb, 2017. The motivation of the conference is to invite researchers, eminent scientists, faculty from reputed colleges and students working in the area of Space development and technology to present their research and get valuable feedback from the people attending the conference. Desire Glance is celebrating World
Desire Glance is celebrating World Space Week 2016 this year with the World Space Week Association (WSWA) which is the largest public space event on earth since its United Nations declaration in 1999.The program will be held on 7 & 8 October, 2016.
“The General Assembly declares 4 to 10 October World Space Week to celebrate each year at the international level the contributions of space science and technology to the betterment of the human condition”
UN General Assembly resolution, 6 December 1999.
The mission of World Space Week Association (WSWA) is to strengthen the link between space and society through public education, participation, and dialogue on the future of space activity using World Space Week as a focus.
Students from different schools, colleges & universities of Bangladesh can participate in the event.
Junior A : Class 1-5
Junior B : Class 6-8
Junior C : Class 9-10
Senior A : Class 11-12
Senior B : University First to Fourth Year
1. Astronomy Olympiad
This segment is only for Junior C, Senior A & Senior B category students. An one hour exam will be taken based on Astronomy & Space Science.
2. Painting Competition
This segment is for all categories. Participants will get 2 hour to complete the painting. Subject will be given on the spot. It will be based on Astronomy. Organizer will provide only cartridge paper. Participants have to bring their own materials. Any medium of color can be used.
3. Extempore Speech
This segment is only for Junior B, Junior C & Senior A category students. Topic will be given on the spot which will be related to Astronomy & Space Science. Speaker will get 3 minute to present his/her speech.
4. Quiz Competition
This segment is only for Junior C & Senior A category students. There will an one hour written exam for preliminary round. Top six teams will be selected for stage round. Topic will be Astronomy & Space Science based. This segment is a team wise competition. There have to be not more than 3 members in a group.
5. Debate Competition
This segment is only for Senior B category students. Topics will be Astronomy & Space Science related. Rules for this segment will be updated soon.
6. Space Craft Model Making Contest
This is the most interesting segment. Participants have to make a non-working model of spacecraft by using any materials. But there will be limitation about size. The size should not more than 12 Inches by length,10 Inches by width & the height is open. There will be only three prizes among all categories. This segment is a team work. There have to be not more than 3 members in a group.
7. Space or Science Fiction Themed Story Contest
This segment is only for Junior B & Junior C category students. Topics will be Astronomy & Space Science related. Participants will get only 1.30 hour to finish the story on the spot. Organizer will provide paper to write. Participants have to bring pens.
8. Space Documentary
There will be an exhibition of a documentary based on Astronomy & Space Science. This is open for all. Anyone can join.
9. Astronomy Workshop
There will be a workshop based on Astronomy & Space Science. This is open for all. Anyone can join the workshop.
10. Astronomical Photo Exhibition
There will be an exhibition of photography based on Astronomy & Space Science. This is open for all. Anyone can join.
11. Mars Rover & Drone Exhibition
There will be an exhibition of Lunabot, Mars Rover & Drone made by several engineering students of reputed universities of our country. This will be open for all.

Rules & Regulations-
* Debate Competition –
Senior B (Only for University Students)
Every team has to follow the rules mentioned below:
1) Only one team can participate from one university
2) Every team must contain three members
3) Debate type: Parliamentary Debate
4) We will announce the topic before 20 minutes of the
competition between any of two teams.
5) Theme of the debate will be Astronomy & Space Science
6) Registration fee- 1500 BDT (Per member 500 BDT)
7) For paying the registration fee please check the about
option of the facebook event to know the process.
8) Every team must have to fill up the registration form & send
the name of the team & along with team members to this
email address –
The subject of the mail should be like this –
Subject (email’s subject) : University-name, Team-name
And then the name of the members should be write
accordingly.If any team doesn’t follow the instruction,
registration will not be accepted.
NB. Only 7 teams can participate in the competition.We will select them according to 1st seven teams to complete the registration process.After the completion of the registration process of 1st seven teams we will close the registration for debate competition.
